2022 Best of the Best Xerox Award Winners!

We were delighted to be crowned the winner of the 2022 Xerox Best of the Best Award in the ‘Self Promotion’ category for our innovative and unique “Less Waste, More Impact” mailer and give away.

The Xerox Best of the Best Awards are a Worldwide competition in which Xerox aims to celebrate Xerox Graphic Communications customers who best utilise its production technology to champion the fusion and passion of print.

Make less waste, create more impact

Conceptualised, developed, copywritten, designed, printed, finished and mailed in-house, our “Less Waste, More Impact” mailer was developed to persuade marketers and creative to carry out smaller, more targeted print runs (to reduce waste!), whilst also increasing the design specification of their print (to increase impact!).

Marketing department cupboards are always full of out-of-date brochures and flyers, as more have been ordered than are often needed. This is the waste that we want to avoid. Modern digital printing methods mean that we can print smaller print runs to ensure that there is less waste, whilst quick turn-arounds ensure stock can be replenished swiftly!

Oh, and there is always a typo to correct somewhere, isn’t there?

Modern digital printing methods also allow marketers to upgrade the specification of their print. Additions such as metallic (silver, gold and colourful metallic hues), clear and white inks, are a cost-effective way to increase impact.

If budgets allow, choosing premium and environmentally friendly papers can add that extra quality and sense of touch.

A self-mailer with zero-waste

We tried to think of everything when reducing the environmental impact, from using smaller amounts of ink, not trimming the sheets, putting a poster on the back so it could be kept instead of thrown away, and sealed with self-adhesive stickers instead of a throw-away envelope.

Adding metallic silver, metallic gold, white and clear inks throughout the mailer (in particular the impact section and poster), personalisation and premium Fedrigoni Sirio Color Perla paper stock allowed us to showcase the capabilities of modern digital printing.

The final element was for it to be hand finished, folded by hand and sealed with printed and perforated self-adhesive stickers, ensuring it stayed together through the postal service, whilst not adding envelope wastage.
